User with nickname [Cheyyng S.] wrote:

"Basically to everyone who's confused:

They went to the temple together (with Juan), that was the first time Cheng Zheng wrote down Yunjin's name in the book
(which he did not let her see) and below her name, he wrote his name. Beside their names are the stamps of the dates, and the first time he wrote
Yunjin's name was in 2010. At temples, these books are used for people to write down their wishes and then the monks would pray for them.
Yunjin wrote that she wished for a peaceful and simple life, whereas Cheng Zheng wished for her (hence he wrote down her name).

Fast forward to their last argument, Cheng Zheng said that they first kissed in school in 2007 and that he loved her for a whole 6 years.
Which means that their last argument was in 2013 and that's when they separated and he left on his plane to New York.

When Yunjin went back to the temple alone to pray after they broke up, she wrote down her wish (and again it was for a peaceful and simple life)
next to the date 2015. It means that it has been 2 years since Cheng Zheng had left on his plane. As Yujin was walking out of the temple,
she wondered what Cheng Zheng had written so many years ago, and Yunjin decided to go through the books to see what he wrote.
When Yunjin found his writings, she saw that every year since the first time in 2010, he went back to the temple to write her name.
It means that every year since 2010, Cheng Zheng went back to the temple to wish for her. She was shocked and she cried looking at the last page
of the book because the date that was stamped next to Cheng Zheng's writing of her name was in 2015 (the current year).
Which means that he still went back even after their last argument (remember, they broke up in 2013) to write her name in the book.
The year 2016 was blank because that's the following year. She cried because she realized his love was unwavering and I think that's why she
had the guts/confidence to go to New York to look for him.

Also, to everyone wondering what Yunjin had sent in her text before Cheng Zheng flew off, it simply said "From Piggy (his nickname to her):
I will e-transfer money every month until the loan is repaid (for Uncle's embezzlement)". Cheng Zheng was disappointed at her text message
as he expected her to stop him from leaving or something, not to notify him that she'll pay him back. Hence he said "let's take off now".

Also (again), since majority of the viewers didn't like the open ending, the director actually decided to release this MV to pacify viewers
instead of including the deleted scenes in the actual ending. They do end up together.

Hope this helps!"
