it was sold that not-since-psycho kind of thing with the graphics and everything. and again all leading towards a more disturbing thing than hitchcock would ever do, more graphic outcome. the graphicness that was always implied in the hitchcock movie is now shown in an argento movie. i'm sure as far as de palma was concerned argento did right as opposed to truffaut and chabrol. he did hitchcockian set pieces inside of the movie. and than he pulled them off. and it was a smash.
