Zespół powstał w 2003 roku.

W skład zespołu wchodzą: Matthew Murphy, Dan Haggis oraz Tord Øverland Knudsen.

Wydali następujące albumy:
- 2007 r. - "The Wombats Proudly Present: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation";
- 2011 r. - "This Modern Glitch".
