British Ice Skating makes a shock announcement that leaves the squad with even less time to prepare for the Skate Off – the first competition in which the entire squad skates against each other. The victors win the opportunity to qualify for a place on Team GB at the Olympics. In Nottingham, Kristen is on a comeback mission following a spinal injury that threatened to ruin her career. Opting for a strict physio regimen over spinal surgery, Kristen wants to show the skating world that she has what it takes to be the best female skater in Britain. Ice dance duo Anthony and Eleanor are grafters with glittering dreams of making it on to the squad and eventually on to the podium. But first, they have to impress the judges. In Sheffield, an injury threatens to derail Billy’s try-out with experienced American skater Katarina. The pair are courted by ice dance royalty Christopher Dean, and Billy has a big decision ahead of him.
