Nina is reading a copy of Shirley Conran’s Lace as Max and Joe play inside a skip on Gloucester Crescent, when she meets someone new. In a letter to her sister Nina muses that she might have met someone, Nunney, but the problem is she’s not sure if she likes him very much. This sets off her off on a quest to find out what exactly makes a great relationship. At Joe’s regular visit to the doctor his eyes are revealed to have no significant deterioration. On the way out Nina and Joe bump into Nunney and Ray, and Ray orders them to stop being so coy and go out on a date!
