Leslie is not looking forward to his mum's birthday lunch. Her new boyfriend Steve is only a year older than Leslie - not that you would know it from the way he acts - and Leslie understandably finds their public displays of affection rather uncomfortable. But when Leslie's mum starts asking awkward questions about his ongoing and fruitless search for a proper job, Steve steps in and offers to arrange an interview for Leslie as a team manager at his friend's law firm. Steve can bypass the fact that Leslie has no experience and even offers to lend him a suit for the interview as he reckons looking the part will be the key to bagging the job. With a £50k basic salary on offer, Leslie decides to go for it.
