Christmas is coming and there is to be a competition for the best Christmas lights in Pontypandy. Sarah and James are sure that the Wholefish Café will win but Norman is sure that his mam’s shop will get the prize. Soon Dilys and Bronwyn have Mike Flood running backwards and forwards between the two shops as their lighting displays get more and more over the top. Back at the station Elvis is doing his best to teach Radar to present the trophy to the ‘prizewinner’, but Radar isn’t letting go of the trophy that easily. Meanwhile the lighting displays are nearly ready, but Mike has yet to put in the correct fuses for the massive amount of lights that he’s wired in. Unfortunately, neither family realises that the lights aren’t ready to be switched on. As the rivalry reaches its peak, the Jones’ and Prices switch on their lights – both causing a fire.
