After being driven nuts by the groms, a stressed-out Bummer has a meltdown. The groms try to help by schooling him in their laidback grom ways. Bummer enjoys their lifestyle a little too much, and ditches his job to become a surf bum like them. Mr. Ridgemount takes over and turns out to be a worse tyrant than Bummer! They have to get Bummer his job back! Meanwhile, Emma decides to lower her standards and goes on a date with Johnny, while Lo gets lessons from her tough-as-nails Daddy on how to deal with her daycare kids.
