Even before its debut, several critics who saw the pilot reviewed the series positively. Among the favorable reviews:
E!'s Kristin dos Santos cites the show as one of the five new shows of the 2011-12 season to watch.
Matthew Gilbert of The Boston Globe gave the show a "C+" grade commenting "From a pair of Lost producers, this is a love-or-hate proposition. The ambition is impressive, as it asks us to imagine Goodwin’s Snow White and Parrilla’s Evil Queen as moderns. But Morrison is a wooden lead, and the back stories - a random collection of fairy tales - don’t promise to surprise.
In a review from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, TV critic Gail Pennington hailed it as one of the "Most Promising Show of The Fall", and unlike Gilbert, had high marks for Morrison.
USA Today's Robert Blanco has placed the series on its top ten list, declaring that "There's nothing else on the air quite like it.
Mary McNamara of The Los Angeles Times compared this series to another fairy-tale themed drama, Grimm, and preferred this series over the other, citing that the premise takes its time building up the charm and that the producer "has that part nailed." She also gave excellent reviews for Morrison's character: "Her Emma is predictably cynical and prickly — fairy-tale princess, my Aunt Fanny — but she's sharp and lively enough to keep audiences begging for "just a few more pages" before they go to bed
Chyba najbardziej zgodzę się z opinią The Boston Globe. Mimo to, uważam że to nie jest pozycja przy której ma się skrajne uczucia, ja osobiście mam mieszane. Czekam na kolejny odcinek i co się wydarzy, ale nie fanką bym się nie nazwała. Muszę jednak przyznać, że sam pomysł przyciąga i chyba to trzyma te 11mln ludzi przed telewizorami. Dziwi mnie recenzja LA Times, bo rzeczywiście Emma Swan jest trochę drewniana i na razie pełni rolę dodatku do całej historii, więc nie wiem skąd te zachwyty, ja jakoś nie widzę w niej nadąsanej i upartej księżniczki.
Serial ogląda około 13 mln ludzi a nie 11.

Pierwszy odcinek obejrzało 12.93 mln a drugi 11.74 mln skoro to był najważniejszy fragment mojej wypowiedzi to się odniosę do niego :D. BTW: już jest zamówienie na całą serię, taka informacja krąży po sieci, więc będzie ze 22 odcinki ;). Zobaczymy co wymyślą.

tylko ja narazie z oceną się postrzymam, bo nie wiem co przewidują:) pilot był intrygujacy i poprzestanmy na tym, bo mam duze oczekiwania:)
a co do liczby widzów to ogranicza sie to do samych stanow...w koncu Europa tez ogląda:)
