Frank’s team is pulled into a troubling case in Brookhaven, RI, when Greg Kleckner’s pregnant wife, Cathy, is abducted, in front of him and in broad daylight. The team identifies a person of interest, but quickly realizes that no one involved in this case is who they appear to be. Overwhelmed with painful memories on the 15th anniversary of her rescue, Kick makes a poor decision that comes back to haunt her. When Kick’s mother, Paula, catches wind of her daughter’s actions, she confronts Frank and comes up with a plan to help minimize the fallout. Later on, when the FBI has a big break in the case, Kick is reminded that it’s not easy to escape one’s past.
