Kostas Karagiannis (1932-1993) was a Greek film director. Regarded as the most prolific director of Greek cinema as direct was around 10-12 films a year. At a young age goes to France to study at a college couture initially but then the world of the cinema enchanted and began working as an assistant general duties in various film productions. He returned to Greece in the early '60s and began directing, writing scripts and also undertakes the production of Greek films.

The first film he directed for Finos Films in 1961 cut a very small number of tickets, only 15, resulting in the Filopoimin Finos drive him away. This does not let him lose his courage. He continued to work as a director, screenwriter and producer until 1966, which along with the cameraman Anthony Karatzopoulos, founded the notorious after Finos Films film production company, the "Karagiannis - Karatzopoulos", which created a total of 118 films.

Worked intensively, was stern and irritable at work, while his personal life was a man of humor.

In the 80s he produced several videos and also in the 70s and worked with foreign film companies, he was also a producer of several TV series. Overall directed 101 films.

He died on 17 February 1993 in Athens.
