Once Upon a Time
Airs: Sunday, May 15th at 8:00 PM

The two-hour finale will bring the heroes' time in Underworld to an end, but will all of them make it back to Storybrooke? Hades and Zelena will make bold moves to have their happily ever after together, and Hades is bound and determined to keep as many fresh souls as he possibly can. "I like having people down there. I don't want to let anyone go," Greg Germann teases. "The more lost souls, the more souls down there that have unfinished business, the better." The question is, can the evil power couple fend off a threatened Rumplestiltskin? He's not likely to let them get off lightly for trying to take his and Belle's unborn child.

Hades i Zelena dokonają śmiałych posunięć by mieć swe szczęśliwe zakończenie.

2016 TV Finale Spoiler-rama!
Once Upon a Time (ABC)

When to Watch: Sunday, May 15 at 7 p.m.

What to Expect: In this two-part season finale, beginning one hour earlier than usual, expect to bid adieu to the Underworld and Greg Germann's pesky Hades once and for all. Although, don't expect everything to be wrapped up neatly in a bow. This is Once Upon a Time after all. Look for the season seven's big arc to kick off in the final moments of season six.

Question: Will Emilie de Ravin’s Belle now be missing from the last few episodes of Once Upon a Time, due to the actress’ maternity leave? Will Belle at least make an appearance in the finale? — Rebecca
Ausiello: Though Belle just subjected herself to a sleeping curse, I am hearing that viewers have in fact not seen the last of de Ravin this season, while Rumple’s expectant wife figure into the storyline through to the two-hour finale (airing May 15).

Once Upon a Time has saved all the drama for one evil mama.

On Sunday’s episode, “Sisters,” Zelena (Rebecca Mader), Regina (Lana Parrilla), and Cora’s (Barbara Hershey) past will finally be explored in what Mader promises will be a “mind-blowing” reveal.

The sisters will also battle in present day as Regina tries to sabotage Zelena’s happy ending again to keep the Wicked Witch from running away with possible true love Hades (Greg Germann), but don’t expect bloodshed.

"Becoming a parent has really changed everything and she’s less concerned about revenge," Mader tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Her endgame is shifting as her heart opens up by having a child."

Mader also spoke with THR about how Zelena’s “heart is starting to soften” for Hades, if Dorothy and Belle are still in her crosshairs and how Mader was “blown away” by Regina and Zelena’s past.

Can everyone trust Zelena? She’s been wishy-washy for the past few seasons.

It’s been sort of hard to say because ultimately, Zelena is wicked, but she’s also just had a baby. So it’s a very interesting time in her life in terms of her own identity, and her endgame is shifting as her heart opens up by having a child. Also the storyline of having Hades around has sort of awakened things inside, and it’s a really confusing time. I don’t know if she even trusts herself right now.

Hades is very convinced that she’s his true love, but is she convinced that he’s her true love? Is she trusting of him or skeptical?

It’s very difficult for her to believe it or accept it because she’s been alone her whole life. … She’s definitely more skeptical. Even in [episode 16], there were so many moments that in the stage directions that said, “This is the moment where they should kiss!” And then they don’t. The music swells and there’s that moment — like when they were on the bike or when he was kneeling below me at the dinner — that in real life, you would lean in and kiss, but that was when Zelena was pulling away or backing away because she’s ultimately terrified of getting hurt, because all she’s known is pain. She doesn’t know what’s on the other side, because she’s never experienced it, and that’s incredibly terrifying for her.

In their last scene together, she says she’s willing to take a chance. Does that give hope for Zelena and Hades in their post-Underworld future?

Her heart is starting to soften, and she’s thinking maybe she should give him a chance. … She came to the point where she realized she’s just resisting for resisting's sake and she hasn’t given him a fair chance, so maybe she’ll try just a little bit. When she says she’s willing to try, that was such a monumental thing to even say. It’s the most vulnerable thing she’s ever said. You’ll discover in next week’s episode how much she’s willing to do and where that’s going to take her.

What were her intentions by giving Belle that sleeping curse? Was that for her benefit, to keep Belle and Rumple in her back pocket?

Giving up your child is the most difficult thing a woman or man could ever do, and she was so deflated that when Belle was so despondent, it felt like more of a mother-to-mother thing. That was how she was trying to connect to me, because Belle is obviously in such a pickle, in such a hideous predicament, it was more like, “Maybe I can just do the right thing for a change and actually help another mom.” I think if Zelena wasn’t a mom, she would have been like, “Listen, if you’re not going to have a drink with me, bugger off and get out of my house.” She’s evolving, which is nice.

There’s been a shift with Zelena and Regina’s relationship where they grow closer and then Zelena pushes her away. What’s the dynamic as Regina tries to quash Zelena’s happy ending again?

You’re gonna learn so much, I don’t think people are going to know what to do with themselves. It’s so exciting, in terms of the exploration of this relationship. It’s one of my favorite relationships on the show, with Regina and Zelena, and we’re going to learn a lot about their past. There’s a lot of evolving and a lot to learn. It’s really, really, really good. When I read the episode, I was just really moved and really blown away. It’s interesting to find out … I really can’t say too much. Regina is ultimately trying to stop Zelena and Hades getting together. The fans are going to lose their minds.

A big family secret from Cora comes forward. Can you tease the effects on Regina and Zelena? Zelena has never met Cora. Will there be any moments with Cora and her lost daughter?

The only thing I can really say is "hashtag mind-blowing" … I literally fell off my sofa, so when you do find out, you’ll probably fall off yours. You should probably wear a seatbelt. It’s pretty mind-blowing.

Compared to some of the other big reveals throughout Once Upon a Time’s history, would you say this is the top of the top of secrets coming out?

Yes. It is up there. It is absolutely up there, and also because it’s about me, obviously as an actor it’s going to be my favorite. (Laughs.) It’s definitely my number one.

Zelena has always had someone in her crosshairs to take down. Is anyone on her bad side? Dorothy got true love’s kiss before her.

She’s less concerned about Dorothy now because it’s more about her daughter. Becoming a parent has really changed everything and she’s less concerned about revenge. The jealousy and turning green with envy was about Regina getting everything, but now what everything means to Zelena has changed. She isn’t angry or jealous about losing her child because it was her decision and she was trying to be the bigger person. In this episode, she’s annoyed and frustrated because now that she’s trying to potentially give Hades a chance, her sister is trying to ruin that. That’s the friction there.

How far will Zelena go to stop Regina? She’s tried to kill her before. What are the lengths she’ll go to save her daughter and her happy ending?

I definitely think she’s less murderous now that she’s become a mum. It’s more about, “How do I get what I want in a way that is true to my wickedness but less bloodshed on my fingers? Because what kind of lesson is that going to teach my little green bean? To me, wicked doesn’t mean, “I’m going to tear you down and destroy you.” Wicked means being authentically yourself and getting what is right to you. The meaning of what being wicked is has changed for her, ultimately now that she’s a mum.

Some new faces are coming to Storybrooke in the Once Upon a Time season finale.

Back in March, news broke that Sam Witwer and Hank Harris had been cast as the evil warden of a mental institution and a meek patient he torments, respectively. Their descriptions seemed to match early reports of two brothers appearing in the finale, leading to speculation that they could actually be the Brothers Grimm. Henry’s role as the Author factoring into the finale only gives that theory even more weight.

However, EW can confirm that Battlestar Galactica’s Witwer and The Man in the High Castle’s Harris will not be taking up that mantle. “I can say that definitely it’s not the Brothers Grimm,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says.

But who they are portraying will play into the season ender. “What’s fun about those two characters is very similar to season 1, when we didn’t know who Graham was, and we were guessing sometimes what character they are,” Kitsis says. “The finale will work much like that, in that the question of who these two are will be part of what the story is.”

“Sam and Hank play characters who play a pivotal role in the season finale,” EP Adam Horowitz adds. “Where they’re from, who they are, and what they’re doing does tee up an element of what we’re doing for season 6. It’s more like opening a door, rather than introducing the whole of what season 6 will be. Hopefully we’re giving you a little taste of what’s to come.”

With Once Upon a Time on the precipice of apparently killing off one of its characters, the fates our beloved heroes and villains hang in the balance as Hades (Greg Germann) heads to Storybrooke.

Ahead of Sunday’s episode, which promises to be emotionally charged, EW had executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis provide teasers for what each major character is dealing with in the two-hour May 15 season finale. Spoilers ahead!

Emma (Jennifer Morrison)
EDWARD KITSIS: Emma is dealing with some serious family problems and internal strife.
ADAM HOROWITZ: Emma is forced to look inward as she deals with some strife that surrounds her with her family and her loved ones.

Regina (Lana Parrilla)
HOROWITZ: Regina, much like Emma, is dealing with an inward crisis that dovetails with something that’s happening to the people she really cares about. Because of that, she finds herself really tested.
KITSIS: Also, Regina finds herself, once again, feeling like the Evil Queen is something she can never break free off. There’s a karmic debt that she still hasn’t repaid.

Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin)
HOROWITZ: We’re going to see some of Snow’s growth from, as we’ve seen this season, Mary Margaret to really embracing that she is Snow White. Long past wounds, particularly with Regina, are dealt with in this finale.

Prince Charming (Josh Dallas)
KITSIS: Snow and Charming are going to find themselves in an old situation in a very new place.

Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle)
KITSIS: Rumple is going to be doing what Rumple does best, which is looking out for himself.

Belle (Emilie de Ravin)
KITSIS: Belle is going to continue to be on maternity leave.
HOROWITZ: But, that said, Belle does play a key role in what’s happening in the finale, particularly with regards to Rumple, while still managing to be on maternity leave.

Henry (Jared Gilmore)
KITSIS: Henry is going to be going rogue.
HOROWITZ: Henry is the driving force of what’s happening in the season finale. In many ways, it’s coming full circle to how the whole series started. Once again, he’s the catalyst for many of these events.

Hook (Colin O’Donoghue)
HOROWITZ: I don’t know if we’re just remembering him fondly or if he’s back.
KITSIS: Don’t know what’s going to happen to him. It sure looked like he was stuck in [the Underworld].

Zelena (Rebecca Mader)
KITSIS: Zelena is going to be finding herself teaming up with people she thought she never would be.

Robin Hood (Sean Maguire)
KITSIS: Robin Hood is going to be dealing with the ramifications of this weekend’s episode.

Anything Once Upon a Time? — Tranquillity
Sunday’s episode will provide a sense of the closure, with the two-hour finale kicking off a new story for season 6. “Like every year, the two-hour finale is kind of a different piece than the rest of the season, so in a lot of ways, this weekend is the finale for the Hades arc,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says. “I can say that it will break a few hearts.” As for the actual finale, part of it will take place outside Storybrooke. “As much as they’d like peace and quiet in Storybrooke, fallout from this weekend’s episode causes a character to go rogue in New York City,” Kitsis says. “Once again, the heroes are called upon to save the day.”

Could Emma have just put half her heart in Hook’s corpse after he died to revive him?
ADAM HOROWITZ: No.

Have we seen the last of the DarkSwan house?
KITSIS: You mean Emma’s new house? No. That is her new home. It is no longer going to be housing Excalibur in the basement. Maybe she’ll put in a foosball table. That is very much her place.

Is there a meaning behind the nursery in Emma’s house in the Underworld?
KITSIS: The meaning is, like when Rumple goes to his shop and we see a lot of the things from his past are there in his face, it’s the past coming back to haunt you. We did it visually to remind Emma of that time, here’s the nursery she never got to live in.

Will there be more Emma and Regina team-ups using magic?
KITSIS: Absolutely.
HOROWITZ: Yup.

Will Henry’s job as the author play a role in the finale?
HOROWITZ: Yup.

Will we ever see Henry’s younger years prior to the book?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Could Henry still be Rumple’s undoing?
KITSIS: Can’t say.

Is there any hope that the character who is dying this season will come back?
KITSIS: There is always a chance. You know, you never die in flashbacks.

In the aftermath of the funeral, will the Charming-Mills family bind together even tighter?
HOROWITZ: Or the reverse could happen.

Could the death cause Regina to revert back to the Evil Queen?
KITSIS: Oooh, good question. Can’t say. The reason we can’t is because we can’t say there’s been a death.

Was it originally planned for Regina to face more of her victims in the Underworld?
KITSIS: No. For us, we liked the idea that she had to get closure with her family. We loved having the victims that were there go up. A bunch of villagers we’ve never met before we didn’t think was as interesting as putting her in an arc with her sister, mom, and dad.

Will we ever explore Snow White’s dynamic with her mother again?
KITSIS: Maybe.
HOROWITZ: It would be next season.

Been loving Snow and Charming in 5B. Will we get to see more of them on adventures together?
HOROWITZ: We would sure hope so. We’d love to have many more adventures with Snow and Charming being adventuresome.
KITSIS: We would really love next season to see Snow and Charming in full adventure mode.
HOROWITZ: It would be great to see more of the Bandit Snow and Charming, and some of the swashbuckling romantic stuff that we started with the two of them. So for sure, we’re totally on board for that.

Will we see Killian and David working together?
KITSIS: Only if he’s alive.

Will Zeus play a part in saving Hook from the Underworld?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Will we see the Jolly Roger again before the end of the season?
KITSIS: Next season.
HOROWITZ: If Hook is alive.
KITSIS: If Hook’s alive, sure, but next season we might show the Jolly Roger, like Emma could take it and sail the world in sadness.
HOROWITZ: It could be they use it and open a restaurant it on it.
KITSIS: Leroy could move into it for a houseboat, you never know, but I like you trying to trick us.

Does Rumple have the capacity to care more about his unborn child than his power?
KITSIS: That is the question of next season.

Will Belle ever wear her wedding ring again?
KITSIS: Only if Rumple can win her heart back.

Will the sleeping curse have any adverse effects on Belle or her baby?
KITSIS: Can’t say.

Will Belle still be pregnant at the end of the season?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Any chance to meet Rumple’s mother?
HOROWITZ: We should.
KITSIS: We would like to.
HOROWITZ: It would be next season.

Will we find out Baby Hood’s name soon?
HOROWITZ: Yes.
KITSIS: This weekend. This. Weekend.

Will we see any kind of Robin backstory finally?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.

Will there be an engagement in the last few episodes of season 5?
KITSIS: Nope.

Will there be a time jump this season?
HOROWITZ: No. Only in that time moves forward.

Will the innocent souls in the river like Aunt Em and Milah ever be released?
KITSIS: I would watch this weekend.

Will we see what happens to the Underworld if everyone solves their unfinished business?
KITSIS: Can’t say.

Have we seen the last of Cruella?
HOROWITZ: Can’t say, but we hope not. We love Cruella.

Will we see more of Ruby and Dorothy?
KITSIS: Not this season, and that’s based on actor availability and scheduling, not a desire to not show them.
HOROWITZ: We absolutely wanted to see them more this season.
KITSIS: Meghan [Ory] is the lead on a new series, so we were not, unfortunately, able to bring her back this year, but we’d love to see her again next season should the actress make herself available.
HOROWITZ: It was our intention to include them in this end run of episodes, but scheduling got in the way. We hope to be able to include them next season.

Will we get to see what happened to Lily and Maleficent and who Lily’s dad is?
HOROWITZ: Next season. Oh yeah, we’ll have plans. You’ll see, hopefully they’ll be great.
KITSIS: I’ll say this, we hear the fans. We know what stories you feel like we’ve dropped, and we’ve got an episode for you next year.
HOROWITZ: We’ve got some plans to try to address many of those things next season.

Will we get to see the Camelot story wrapped up with Arthur and Guinevere?
KITSIS: Yup.

Will we ever see Aladdin or Jasmine on the show?
KITSIS: Oooh.
HOROWITZ: Can’t say.
KITSIS: Can’t say.

Will we ever get a musical episode?
KITSIS: Can’t say.
HOROWITZ: We’ll never say never, but can’t say.
KITSIS: That will be based on time and someone knowing how to do a musical, and I can tell you the two of us do not.

Are we going to see what happened with Will and Anastasia someday?
KITSIS: Someday! Maybe right around when we see Lily and Maleficent.

Are the new guys considered to be past authors like Henry?
HOROWITZ: Nope.

Will season 6 be set in Storybrooke, or are there other realms to visit?
KITSIS: Storybrooke. I will say that the finale is unlike the ones that we’ve done before. It will not be an alternate reality, and next year will not follow the same pattern that we’ve always done. Just when you think you’ve got us, we’re going to change it again.

TŁUMACZONE NA SZYBKO:

■ Emma nie podzieli serca by ewentualnie uratować Haka
■ Dom Dark Swan to teraz nowy dom Emmy (bez piwnicy z mieczem)
■ Będzie więcej teamu Emma i Regina
■ Twórcy chcą pokazać dużo scen przygód Śnieżki i Księcia w następnym sezonie
■ Jolly Rogera zobaczymy dopiero w następnym sezonie
■ To czy Rumpel będzie chronił swoje nienarodzone dziecko (inaczej niż swoją mroczną siłą) to pytanie na następny sezon.
■ Jeśli Rumpel się zmieni, Bella założy pierścionek
■ Matkę Rumpla poznać możemy (???) w następnym sezonie
■ W 5x21 poznamy imię dziecka Robina i Zeleny
■ Poznamy dalszą historię z Camelotu (chodzi o Artura i Ginewrę)
