When last we tuned into ABC’s Once Upon a Time, Mr. Hyde — through a deal with Rumplestiltskin — had laid claim to Storybrooke, so that those from the Land of Untold Stories could relocate to the Maine burg.

But what exactly is an Untold Story, other than one that didn’t merit inclusion in the first volume of Henry’s storybook?

“It is a story that has yet to play out,” Once co-creator Eddy Kitsis told TV Line as part of our Fall Preview Q&A. “You’re going to see that a lot of people went to the Land of Untold Stories because they wanted to literally push ‘pause,’ like they were watching their own life on TiVo.”

So whereas Season 1 explored what happened after the fairytales people know and love came to a close, “This is a tweak on that idea,” says co-creator Adam Horowitz. “What happens to some of these stories if they don’t quite finish the way we thought they did, and were suspended midstream? And what would make characters want to suspend their stories?”

For some, Kitsis says, the reasons include “fear, not wanting to face something.” Yet now that Hyde has deposited them in Storybrooke, that “pause” button is poised to come undone — whether they like it or not.

In the latter scenario, “What you’ll be seeing is our characters wanting to help,” says Kitsis. “And we see Emma back in the position where she’s a Savior trying to to help people find their happiness” — she also processes the realization that there have been other Saviors, Agrabah street rat Aladdin included, before her.

All told, Kitsis promises a back-to-basics return to the Storybrooke-based tone of Season 1. “It’s really Emma and the Yellow Bug, riding around helping people,” he previews, “which is what we wanted to come back to this year.”

Once Upon a Time Season 6 premiers Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8/7, where it will lead into Season 2 of Secrets and Lies.

When to Watch: Sunday, Sept. 26 at 8 p.m.
What to Expect: She's back! The Evil Queen, freshly separated from Regina (both played by Lana Parrilla), will become Storybrooke's biggest problem, as the show refocuses on our favorite fairy tale town and its beloved denizens. Her arrival will confuse everyone, least of all half-sister Zelena. "I'm like, 'I've got a lot of work on my hands, dealing with two of you.' One, that's a lot, all right? But I've got a Regina and an Evil Queen! It's exhausting just thinking about what I've got coming ahead," Rebecca Mader told E! News at Comic-Con. Elsewhere, Mr. Hyde and the rest of residents of The Land of Untold Stories will try and make Storybrooke theirs, while a certain magic carpet-riding street urchin is poised to make an appearance. That's right—Aladdin's (Deniz Akdeniz) on the way!

Do you have any scoop about Snow White and Prince Charming from Once Upon a Time? — SnowingFan
Would it make you happy if I told you that the OUAT bosses say they want to see a lot of Snow and Charming this year? “Charming has always had questions about his family and his father that he thought were answered,” EP Adam Horowitz says. “Charming’s past becomes something very important to his future. We’re going to see him and Snow embarking on some adventure related to that past, and what that’s going to create for them moving forward, which is some unexpected obstacles to that happy ending they’re all trying to live.”

Series creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are excited to spend a season back in Storybrooke and “dig into each of our characters and explore what makes them who they are,” as they help Aladdin and others from the Land of Untold Stories deal with their suddenly resumed tales. “Whereas the Dark Curse gave you no choice, these people chose to pause their lives, for different reasons,” says Kitsis. “We see Emma really back in the position where she’s a Savior trying to help people find their happiness.” Meanwhile, as Regina deals with the “many ramifications” of splitting off (and seemingly snuffing) her sinister side, the purely Evil Queen will form a “delicious” plan to attack the heroes “with the style and grace you would expect” from the royal, Kitsis previews. Versus the Charmings, for example, “There is a very specific thing from the past that she set in motion that comes back into play.” Also: Might Zelena prefer her very twisted “sister”?

BONUS SPOILER!: Morpheus (24’s Giles Matthey) has a vested interest in how Rumple’s mission to wake Belle plays out, but the EPs are mum on what it is. “I would say, though, that he is highly motivated and emotionally involved,” Kitsis hints.

The show will be diving more into Hook’s past as his relationship with Emma moves forward. “Last year we saw Emma saying I love you to him when they weren’t in any sort of danger,” EP Adam Horowitz says. “Hook is excited to progress that relationship. Is the identity of the hooded figure who stabs Emma in her vision going to revealed sooner rather than later?

Eddy Kitsis: You'll have the answer before the Christmas break.

So the timeline of this is that she could die around Christmas?

Kitsis: No — we could find out who's under the hood then. She could die as early as next week.

Adam Horowitz: That looming fate is something that hangs over her and opens up a lot of questions. Is it an immutable fate or is it something you can fight and change, and what does that mean? Do you tell the people you love, and how does everyone deal with that? Her first instinct is not to tell, so we're going to explore what that means initially.

Is this a secret that slowly spreads from one person to another in Storybrooke?

Horowitz: The secret is going to get out. The question really is does it get out because she tells and decides to do the right thing, or does it get out because she's forced to? That is something that is going to happen within the first batch of episodes. This is not something that we're going to drag out for a long time. The first part is, how do you handle the secret and how does it get out? The second part of it is, in the aftermath of everyone knowing what these visions are, what they mean, and if they will fight or embrace them.

How impacted will Hook and Emma's relationship be by the secret and her looming death?

Kitsis: Emma and Hook are dealing with an internal problem. It’s not like we’re going to do a love triangle or break them up, we're actually showing a real relationship. If Hook finds out, it's going to be dealt with the way that you would if a significant other lied to you. It’s Emma's need to try and do things on her own which gets her in trouble. Hook is always battling those walls that she puts up.

Hyde warns Emma that someone from the Land of Untold Stories could be lurking, waiting to kill her. Are we going to see signs of concern with Monte Cristo or these other new characters ticking up, or is it more that people are trying to help them?

Kitsis: Our characters believe the best in people, so they're going to help them. Will there be certain people who may have histories and pasts that come up? Well, of course. … But our heroes' point of view is: 'We're going to help them. We're going to return their happy endings, help them not be frightened and complete their stories so they can move on.' But there’s Hyde and the Evil Queen in the way.

The danger of Hyde and Emma's relationship is they need something from each other. He gave her a bit of what she wants, but when is that other shoe going to drop? Could she betray the people she loves to get answers about her death?

Horowitz: Emma's really going to have to deal with the consequences for keeping secret what Hyde has told her and for however she's going to pursue dealing with this new information. It's not a case of she's going to take Hyde's side or necessarily form an alliance with him, but it's more about the wrench he's thrown into her relationships.

How much will the Savior mythology evolve? Is there further symptoms after the tremors, like seizures and then imminent death?

Kitsis: We're definitely diving more into that and what happens. If there's a second step? I'm not sure. I think one of the things we're going to learn is seeing your future, it's going to happen, but it may not happen the way you want. What we're going to see is Emma just struggling with that in her head for a while — philosophically, what does that mean? How do do I live my day to day?

Is there a lot of backstory with Saviors that we'll learn this season, or is it just encapsulated by Aladdin, Emma, and this oracle?

Kitsis: The first batch of episodes would be that. We're not going to really meet any other Saviors for the first half.

Horowitz: It's different than what we did with the Dark Ones where we had a whole batch of them at one point. This is less about mysteries of who were Saviors throughout time and more about what it means to be a Savior and what it does to you. We see Aladdin and how he was wrecked by it, and then seeing Emma start to get these shakes is meant to launch a story about what is the toll of being a Savior. That's what we're really interested in exploring — six years in, Emma has gone to these lands, saved these people, learned magic, and grown. She's been a hero now for some time, but it takes a toll. There’s no accident to it. There is something in the nature of this kind of job and being this kind of person that does this to you.

How deep will Aladdin's stories go? Will we see a beginning and end? Could he perhaps have seen a vision and died?

Kitsis: We're definitely going to be telling his story.

How will Aladdin and Jasmine be incorporated?

Horowitz: They get incorporated into the Storybrooke world within the first batch of episodes and there's slightly longer term arc plan for them.

Kitsis: We're going to be doing our spin on it, so episode five is going to be their backstory with a different take on what the movie was.

Jafar was on Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, but he was re-cast. Did anything about his character change, and do you have any plans to incorporate more Wonderland elements and characters onto this show?

Kitsis: Naveen [Andrews] wasn’t available, but it’s the same character and same evil problems. It's not like saying, "Oh, Wonderland didn't happen.” For others, you never can say never. We're a big fan of Sophie and Michael's. There were stories we wanted to tell on [Wonderland] that we didn't get to, so hopefully someday.

Will the first half of the season balance Aladdin’s story and the Land of Untold Stories with our core characters’ issues?

Horowitz: Yes, absolutely. We hope that when the audience finishes watching the first 10, they'll see that it's not as simple as it appears at first. Aladdin and Hyde will be a part of it, but at the center of it is Emma and the Savior dilemma and Regina and her Evil Queen dilemma.

Zelena seems torn about what to do with the Evil Queen. She's scared, but she's also intrigued because now she has both sides. How does that dynamic evolve?

Kitsis: That's exactly what it is because Regina basically said, “Yeah, I blame you," and who's there to pick her up but the other sister. Zelena says, "You took out the side that's most like me," and here we go — here's the sister you always wanted. That push and pull is going to be playing out in the next few episodes. Zelena is a character who feels alone. She is looking for family, but she always feels on an island and she's done really horrible things. We can't forget she killed Rumplestiltskin’s kid. He doesn't strike me as somebody who forgives.

Horowitz: When she says, “You took out the part that's most like me,” those are not the words of someone with a clear conscience who has completely redeemed themselves. That's someone who recognizes the wickedness in themselves as an integral part of who they are.

Is there a timeline for seeing Rumple and Belle’s baby’s birth and how they cope with that?

Horowitz: There is a definite plan for when that child is born … it's going to happen this season and it gets intense.

Are we talking about actual complications with the birth?

Kitsis: There is the classic case of Rumple, who has wronged everybody. Rumple is going to do what he needs to do for the baby. Don't forget, he's somebody who takes babies — he doesn't have them taken from him. I would say that is his motto.

With the Evil Queen’s role, does Emma and Regina's relationship become more strained or grow stronger this season?

Horowitz: Emma and Regina’s relationship continues to grow and has evolved greatly since when they first met. I love the moment in the premiere when Regina confesses her fear about what it means to not have magic — that's something that you confess to a friend or someone you trust. It’s really interesting for us to explore these two women who were completely at odds when they met in the pilot of the show and now have found themselves in this unlikely friendship that's now grown into a likely friendship.

Has Snow become more of an important part of Regina's life, too? They have a heart-to-heart in the premiere that seems like the most genuine moment of the series.

Kitsis: It started with [The Evil Queen] breaking up [Snow’s] wedding and now it's [Regina] confiding in [Snow] and actually being on the same side. And Zelena pointed that out: "You ran to your friend Snow White." They're actually friends, much more even than Regina and Emma. They have this history and they knew each other's parents, even though Regina killed hers. For all the spectacle of the show, those are our favorite moments. The moments where it's just quiet between two characters and you get to see the evolution of them.

Lastly, Cinderella is returning this season. What is her arc like?

Horowitz: With Cinderella, it's less an arc than she returns in an episode and we may or may not see her more because we love the character. Her episode is very impactful on what's going on with Emma and Regina and all of our core characters.

Kitsis: We find that some of the characters from Cinderella made their way to the Land of Untold Stories. Her stepmother and stepsisters all have stories that haven’t played out.

Warning: This story contains major spoilers from the season 6 premiere of Once Upon a Time. Read at your own risk!

Being the Savior is not all it’s cracked up to be; Emma Swan learned that the hard way during Once Upon a Time’s sixth season premiere.

Facing an influx of new characters coming to Storybrooke from the Land of Untold Stories, along with the villainous Hyde (Sam Witwer) claiming ownership of the town, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) started to have visions of the future — a grim one that sees her fighting a hooded figure who ultimately gets the upper hand and killed her.

Hyde spotted Emma’s hand tremors — a side effect every Savior before her has faced — and sent Emma to follow the red bird that would lead her to an oracle. Like with every Savior before her, the oracle explained, the future she glimpsed cannot be prevented; the journey to get there may change, but the end result will always be the same. In short, Saviors don’t get happy endings.

So, is there no way to save Emma Swan? “That is a question we are posing,” executive producer Edward Kitsis says. “That’s what we’re going to explore this season.” Though, EP Adam Horowitz is quick to remind fans that OUAT “remains a show about hope.”

Now the question is: Who’s under the hood? As Hyde points out, as the Savior, Emma will want to help the new characters from the Land of Untold Stories, but one of them could ultimately be her killer. “Emma is going to wonder who that is,” Kitsis says. “We’re definitely going to be exploring that. It could be someone we’ve met before. I definitely would say it is somebody we’ve met before. Who’s in the hood is going to be a mystery. To tell you now would be like, ‘Here’s who shot J.R.’”

(Side note: My theory is that the oracle is actually Jafar in disguise, the red bird looking far too similar to Iago from Aladdin. The visions may be a trick that causes Emma to second guess herself, leading to her being more vulnerable to the villain from Agrabah, who is actually under the hood.)

Emma’s fate hanging in the balance is all part of the show taking a deeper look at what happy endings really mean. “What we really wanted to do was get inside Emma’s head,” Kitsis says. “Six years ago, when we met her, the very first thing she did to Henry is she said, ‘I don’t believe any of this.’ She even denied having a kid. We’ve seen her grow and fight and [go on] all these travels. We thought, what would happen if you really did all this? Is it fair to return the happy endings to everyone else and be told yours doesn’t come? Would you still keep doing your job? Are you doing it out of the sake of duty or because you believe in it? What kind of role model are you? We really wanted to get into Emma’s head this year, in a character way, and really explore what it means to have this responsibility.”

For now, Emma’s keeping what’s in her head to herself, lying to Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) about her tremors and the visions. “It’s a lie that’s coming from what’s a good place in her mind, but he’s probably not going to feel that way when he finds out,” Horowitz says.

“The fun thing about the six seasons, at least as writers, is you get to revert to that,” Kitsis says. “When Emma has a problem, she reverts back to season 1 — wall goes up, ‘I’ll figure it out myself, I don’t need to tell anyone.’ That’s the journey for her and Hook, which is now that she said last year, ‘I love you,’ well if you’re letting that wall down and letting all the good things in, all the bad things are going to come in. It’s that push-pull that’s going to be driving them.”

Suffice it to say, keeping the truth from Hook and her family will start to weigh heavily on Emma. “It affects her in the way that that anytime you keep a lie from the people you love, it starts to eat at you,” Kitsis says. “What happens usually is one of two things: You have to come clean or you have to continually double down and it only make it worse. Emma will absolutely double down.”

Who saves the Savior?

The Season 6 premiere of ABC’s Once Upon a Time left Emma and viewers wondering that very question, when in the course of trying to find and help the refugees from the Land of Untold Stories, Emma experienced hand tremors and fleeting visions of a nighttime street fight. She eventually split away from Hook and followed a red bird (per an imprisoned Hyde’s instructions), until she ran into a former oracle. The young woman begrudgingly revealed more of Emma’s vision, of her future — and in it, she winds up on the wrong end of her unseen opponent’s blade.

You can change the path to the destination but the destination is the same, said the oracle. On the day you saw, in the battle you saw, you will die.

Yikes.

Or, will she….? “The show remains a show about hope,” Once co-creator Adam Horowitz allows. As such, “Our characters are going to fight the battle to see if that is a fate that is immovable.”

Of course, that would require Emma sharing her bleak fate with someone — anyone — which she is not yet looking to do, concealing it even from Hook. “It’s a lie that’s coming from what is a good place in her mind,” says Horowitz, “but he’s probably not going to feel that way if he finds out.”

Surveying Emma’s private plight — as Jafar snarked to Aladdin in the cold open, Saviors never get happy endings — cocreator Eddy Kitsis says, “Now that she said I love you [to Hook], we thought, ‘Well, if you’re letting that wall down and all those good things in, all the bad things are going to come in,’ and that push/pull is what’s going to be driving them” in Season 6.

As for Emma’s eventual slayer, the hooded person’s identity will continue to be a mystery — though it very well might be someone we have met before.

Elsewhere in the season opener, Rumple traveled to the Temple of Morpheus to insert himself into Belle’s dreams, where in a scary, Upside Down-y version of his castle he recreated the moment they fell in love, in the name of waking her. But just before he was able to do so, Belle was reminded of just what kind of scalawag her husband is and all his “unbroken promises,” by the aforementioned Morpheus — aka a grown incarnation of their unborn son! So even when she was woken, by her son’s gentle forehead kiss, Belle made clear to Rumple that she would not repeat past mistakes and wouldn’t be sharing a home with him back in Storybrooke.

“Belle really is kind of in a place where she’s given up on Rumple,” says Kitsis, “but they have a child and that makes things messier, because you actually have to put aside your own feelings and put the child first,” no matter how “severely disappointed” she is in her mate.

Rumple meanwhile “truly loves Belle, he truly wants that child and truly wants to be a good dad,” Kitsis adds, “but he is a gangster and he’s not giving that life up.” As Horowitz notes, “When they’re in the dream world and she asks if he would change for her and he says, ‘For you, I would be the best man I can be,’ it’s a very carefully chosen set of words. He’ll be the best man he can be, but he can’t quite get to that place of actually being a good man. [T]hat’s the push/pull in that relationship, because she does love him and see the good and the bad in him and sees the potential, and it’s that frustration that continues to grow.”

Will Morpheus continue to play a role in his parents’ predicament? “Yes, we’re going to see him again,” answers Horowitz. “This was a taste of an introduction.”

The premiere’s other emotional story found Regina announcing to Snow White that the “story” she had been living up until now was over, and that she was ready to start living a new one in which the Evil Queen plays no role. (Ha, little does she know with whom her dissed sister Zelena is having cocktails at the farmhouse!) As Regina and Snow walked away, a feather from one of dearly departed Robin’s arrows floated down onto the bench where his soul mate had just sat.

“When [Regina] explains that she chooses to have hope and believe that Hades was lying, that’s her taking a leap of faith into believing he wasn’t obliterated, that he went to a better place, he moved on,” says Horowitz. “And when the audience sees the feather come down, that’s telling [us] she was right to have that belief.”

Ktoś tu z was prowadzi tą stronę serialu na wikipedii? Bo tam się powinno dodać daty premier, nazwiska reżyserów (podane na imbd) oraz przeszłość postaci z 6x01 oraz opis 6x02.
