Two young women, livewire Holly Tyler and her straitlaced older sister, Valerie, have pushed their sisterly relationship to the limits by becoming roommates. Holly had been torn between Vince, and her former boyfriend, Henry. Luckily, her summer internship in Paris came through, allowing Holly to leave both guys--and all her confusion--behind, at least for the summer. Holly is excited to be starting college, especially since she and her friend Gary Thorpe, who enjoyed a brief summer fling with pal Tina Haven, will both be going to New York University. Meanwhile, the public relations business that Val runs with her friend Lauren is still struggling. Holly returns home from Paris with a new boyfriend, Ben, a handsome British rock star. Realizing they've lost Holly, Vince and Henry are heartbroken, and Henry says good-bye to Holly one last time before leaving for Princeton.
