i would actually say that when it came to the late 80s early 90s, of the two directors that came out with a splashy movie where I wanted to see somebody prove something was John McTiernan's follow-up film to Die Hard and Stuart Gordon's follow-up film to Reanimator. I really was invested in those guys being great and I was really invested in them showing that the last movie they did wasn't a fluke. I like From Beyond and I like Dolls, but none of them have the excitement that Reanimator had. Reanimator was something special. Maybe it was just the score.
