INDIANA Evans is set to make a splash on the Coast as a mermaid in the hit children's show H20: Just Add Water.

Producers yesterday announced they had received funding for a third series and will begin shooting at Movie World, Sea World and across the Coast in November.

Evans will join returning stars Cariba Heine and Phoebe Tonkinn who will play mermaids with incredible powers over water.

"I am looking forward to playing the character of Bella and taking on a new challenge," said 17-year-old Evans.

"The production quality is one factor given that it's shot on film, and the physical aspect, which will be quite demanding.

"The series is highly regarded in the international market and I'm really excited to be joining the team in series three."

The addition of Evans is a boost to the booming show as the former Home And Away star has just been announced as the winner of the 'Queen Teen' award at the 2008 Dolly Teen Choice Awards, cementing her position as one of Australia's most popular young actresses.

She recently filmed a guest spot on Channel 9's hot new crime drama The Strip, which has also been produced on the Coast, as a Schoolies Festival partygoer.

Producer Jonathan Shiff said he was thrilled to have Evans on board as the show's third mermaid. "She is an extraordinary proven talent and will relish her feisty new character," he said.
