Od 1971 r. jest gitarzystą prowadzącym i wokalistą w zespole Blue Öyster Cult. Ponadto pełnił tę samą funkcję w następujących grupach:
- Soft White Underbelly (1967-1969);
- Oaxaca (1970);
- Stalk-Forrest Group (1970);
- Santos Sisters (1970);
- The Red and the Black (2000).

W 1982 r. wydał album pt. "Flat Out".
