It feels very much like a '70s vibe-style western. The script is better than the original script. I'm not the biggest fan of the original movie. I like this remake better than the original. What this film's greatest choice is: you hear all this talk about Frank Miller, but it's more like a name or an idea - they don't really make him a person in the original. But here they do. They pump this invisible character of Frank Miller into a much more well-rounded character. So when the train finally arrives and it's Michael Madsen, it's a thrill. I got more of a thrill at the reveal of Michael Madsen than at any moment I got in the original High Noon. (..) I don't say that much about these 2000s remakes, but this is the one I actually think is better than the original.
